Parcels situation:
This vineyard extends over south-eastern slope of the Gloeckelberg, at an altitude od 260 m, on the Granitic basements of Vosges mountains. Its acid brown, coarse sandy soil, becomes more or less clayey as weathering progresses. The parcels are one of the slowest slope in this area. Micro-climate is solar and warm. The underground is warming rapidly and over-ripening is often the result even in the early harvest time.
Vineyard work :
The exploitation is led according to the mode of the Organic Agriculture, controlled by ECOCERT - FR-BIO-01.
Organic wine.
Tasting :
- Colour : Intensive gold yellow, with amber and coppered reflection, limpid.
- Aromas : Intense. Overripe aromas (quince, dried grapes, corinthians grapes,...) Nuances of almont past, of passion fruits, of vanilla and liquorice.
- Mouth taste : Sweet and candied first impression, very nice acidity, balanced with the top level of concentration and the tannic and suave perception. Intensive barley sugar, fruit drop. Very long and pleasant after taste on almond past and candied grapes.
Advices :
- Wine and food harmony : Concentrated wine. Nice for a festive aperitif, suitable with duck with hot oranges, Asian and Caribbean food...Wonderful with deserts (icecream, plum tarts with cinnamon,...).
- Service temperature : 10-11°
- Ageing : 15 years
